What Is Lead Sheet Lab?
Lead Sheet Lab is an exciting educational game designed to teach students the fundamentals of chord construction and chord symbol interpretation. Through game-based learning, students gain a deep understanding of chord formulas, construction, and notation—giving them the confidence to play from lead sheets and chord charts with ease.

How It Works
Learn Chord Construction
Students are introduced to the basics of chord types—major, minor, diminished, augmented, and more—and learn the formulas used to build them.

Interactive Writing & Practice
Using a dry-erase marker on the included musical staff and keyboard, students actively write and visualize chords to reinforce learning.

Build Chords on the Game Board
Players collect cards and construct chords listed on their game board in a fun, competitive format.

Four Progressive Levels (All in one package)
From basic major chords to complex extended and altered chords, students progress through four levels of increasing difficulty:
Level 1: Major chords
Level 2: Major, minor, and V7 chords
Level 3: Dominant 7th, M6, m6, sus2, sus4, and slash chords (e.g., C/G)
Level 4: M7, m7, M6, m6, sus2, sus4, Aug, and dim chords
