Welcome to Misterioso Manor! Music students will be motivated to practice and complete goals in this fun and effective year-long practice incentive program. Using solid instructional design theories, Sebastian Sharp and the Case of the Missing Manuscript ™ motivation program encourages and rewards students at just the right intervals while creating enthusiasm for piano and instrument lessons.
Visiting each room only once, students must visit all 15 rooms/places in the mansion to collect clue cards. Each clue card tells the next part of the story and asks students to answer music history and theory questions. In addition, it gives them their next clue to find out WHO the mystery musician is and WHAT song Sebastian was playing.
As students pass the ? spaces on the board, they earn suspect cards to help identify WHO stole the music, WHY they took it, and WHERE they hid it so we can get it back. You could even be a suspect!
Students track their clues (both answers to questions and measures of music they find) in their detective notebook, which doubles as their student assignment book.
Teacher and parent-approved! Both teachers and parents have noticed increased motivation and results with this practice motivation program!
